2026 Annual Recital
Let Your Light Shine
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
This year’s recital, Let Your Light Shine, is a celebration of the gifts God has placed inside each of our dancers. Throughout the season, our students have grown not only in technique, but in confidence, character, and faith.
Our prayer is that as they step onto the stage, their light will shine brightly, not for applause, but for His glory. We are so excited to gather as a dance family and celebrate all the Lord has done this year.

Mandatory Dress Rehearsal
Dress rehearsal is mandatory for all dancers and is essential for a smooth recital. Please arrive on time with hair, makeup, and your first costume ready. Hair and makeup will be checked before rehearsal begins, and any adjustments must be made before starting.
Rehearsal runs until 9:00 PM. Little dancers (Lilies of the Valley and Joyful Angels) will be dismissed at 7:30 PM, so please arrange pickup if you are not staying.
To keep rehearsal focused, only one parent or guardian per dancer is permitted in the auditorium, and only dancers, teachers, and volunteers are allowed backstage. Please drop off dancers when possible, and if staying, sit quietly in the sanctuary.
Dancers who miss dress rehearsal cannot perform in the recital. Following these guidelines helps make rehearsal efficient, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
Additional info can be found in the recital handbook.
Recital Day
Dancers should arrive with hair and makeup done, but not in costume, and check in immediately so warm-ups and stage walk-throughs can begin on time. Lilies of the Valley classes need to be there 1 hour before the show start and all other classes must be there 1.5 hours before the show begins. Hair and makeup will be checked before each performance, and any adjustments must be made before going on stage.
Dancers remain backstage for the entire show, sitting in the balcony between dances. The performance runs approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, and a private recording will be shared with families.
Backstage and changing areas are for dancers and female volunteers only. Male volunteers are not permitted, and only one female family member may assist with costumes or retrieve personal items after the show.
Doors to the auditorium open 1 hour before the show, and volunteers will be ready to assist families dropping off dancers.
Additional info can be found in the recital handbook.
Recital Info
-
Costumes are to be worn only at dress rehearsal and performances. Once distributed, they become the responsibility of the parent/guardian, and any lost or damaged items must be replaced at the family’s expense. All costumes, shoes, and personal items must be labeled with the dancer’s initials. Dancers without proper costume and shoes will not be permitted to perform.
Dance shoes may not be worn outside. Only assigned accessories may be worn on stage, and jewelry (except small stud earrings) is not permitted.
Dancers with multiple costumes must wear a skin-tone leotard and tights underneath for modesty and quick changes. Costumes should be hung neatly and steamed the week of recital.
Please refer to the Recital Handbook for full details.
-
Stage make-up helps define dancers’ features under bright lights and ensures they can be clearly seen on stage. Make-up is required for all dancers, including little ones.
All dancers should wear red lipstick (no nude or brown shades), eyeshadow in pinks, corals, purples, or browns (no blue, gray, or black), and blush that matches their skin tone. Mascara is recommended for ages 5 and up, and foundation is required for ages 8 and up. Black eyeliner is optional.
For full details and age-specific requirements, please refer to the Recital Handbook.
-
All dancers must wear their hair in a bun or French braid(s) into a bun unless otherwise instructed. Hair must be fully secured with bangs and loose pieces slicked back. The only item in the hair should be the required costume headpiece, and no unnatural hair colors are permitted.
Hair will be inspected before dress rehearsal and each performance. Dancers will not be permitted on stage if hair is not properly secured.
For complete details and requirements, please refer to the Recital Handbook.
-
Lilies of the Valley dancers will remain in their classrooms with their teacher and room mom until Intermission. After performing, they return to their classroom under supervision.
At Intermission, parents must pick up their dancer directly from the classroom. Dancers must be checked out with the room mom before leaving. After checkout, they may watch the rest of the show with their family.
A promo code will be provided for a discounted ticket if your dancer will need a seat in the audience.
-
Professional videographers will be capturing the Saturday show, and a photographer/content creator will be on site. Exact dates for additional coverage will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
